Why you should read every day

Do you want to be smarter, make more money, and feel less pressure? The habit of reading daily can help you accomplish those things. It may even make you look better, although I doubt any scientist has proven it. But they found many other reasons why you should read every day.

Reading makes you smarter

Readers score higher on IQ tests, starting in childhood. Reading is an active mental process that often replaces passive activity such as watching television. People who read have higher GPAs, higher intelligence, more diverse vocabulary, and greater general knowledge than those who don't. Simply put, reading gives you tools in your analytical toolbox. It helps to make you a better thinker. Reading also occupies your brain, which mainly works to operate the muscles in your brain. The brain needs exercise to stay strong and healthy now and over time. Reading gives him the exercise he needs.

Reading reduces stress

I enjoy just over sitting in my yard under the breeze or in a warm bubble bath and reading a good book. If you know this feeling, you'll easily understand how science has repeatedly proven that reading reduces stress and increases relaxation. Reading is a form of escape, helping you forget the hassles of everyday life and enjoy the world outside your world. Perhaps this escape is the reason why I don't force myself to read books that I don't enjoy. Reading a book that you don't enjoy is exhausting. I prefer to find pleasure in the hobby.

Reading makes you a better writer

Well, not everyone is interested in this outcome, but it is likely that those who have read this blog are interested in it. Everything you read – good or bad – helps enrich your writing. It increases your vocabulary and exposes you to various writing and storytelling styles. Even if you hate the article, it shows you what you don't want to do for your readers. The relationship of positive reading to writing alone is enough to keep me doing it.

Reading improves your concentration

القراءة تحسن تركيزك

Internet consumption, most of which is done via mobile devices, makes it increasingly difficult for us to concentrate. There's always something ringing, knocking, ringing, or ringing in us. The barrage of information received erodes our attention span. So much so that the average attention span is only eight seconds, and it has steadily declined over the past two decades. I've even seen research by Eric Qualman, author of Social Economics: How Social Media is Changing the Way We Live and Do Business, which says humans have fewer attention spans than goldfish. I'm not quite sure how to measure goldfish's attention span, but this point sticks in my mind. We have to retrain our minds to focus on the tasks at hand and not be "brilliant" as I call it for my husband. We can't be distracted by every little detail in the environment around us, so much so that we lose the ability to do deep work. Reading books helps you exercise and maintain your ability to focus.

Reading gives you something to discuss

I'm very socially embarrassed. I'm very bad at short talk and always embarrass myself by trying to fill in conversation pauses. You will never run out of things that you can talk about with your new or old acquaintances when you read every day. You can always go back to something you've recently read or read. I love when people ask me what they should read or share with me a title they think I'll enjoy. Although I feel a little sorry for them. Like: "Are you really ready for this discussion?

Reading improves creativity

Reading requires you to use your imagination. Even if you're like me and you assign famous actors to most of the characters in your books, it still takes some creativity. Reading exposes you to new ideas, information, and ways of thinking. It helps stimulate creativity and develop your creative thinking. In short, exposure to ideas generates more ideas!

Reading reduces boredom

القراءة تتطلب منك استخدام خيالك

Have you ever flown on an international flight or sat in the waiting room for an appointment you were on schedule? If so, you know how long and tedious these things can be. But I don't get upset at all, even when someone is late for a meeting or meal. I always answer: "Don't worry! You know I have a book." What most people consider boring and wasted time, I see it as an opportunity. I never worry about getting bored because I can always read, and I never get tired of doing it.

3 ways to develop a habit of daily reading

1. Always have something to read. You will likely have unexpected pockets of time throughout your day. They are the perfect time to read. But you may not have a book, so waste time on your phone instead. That's why I always have a digital book. No matter where I am, I can open my Kindle app or library and continue reading my book.

2. Listen to books. Number of audiobooks! It is not open to discussion. When you can't read, listen. Listen to books while getting ready for your day, on the go, or while you do errands or complete household chores. You're likely to get one or more books a week just by listening.

3. Read to relax. Many people set aside time in the morning while drinking their coffee or at the end of the day before bed to read. Making reading part of the ritual of starting or ending goes a long way toward establishing the habit of everyday reading.
